AMJ Socialcare is the brainchild of Stuart Sorensen (Trainer, Consultant and Director) and Gillian Hargreaves (Administration and Director). The company provides practical, 'down to earth' training and consultancy on a wide range of social care topics.

Training can be 'off the peg' or individually tailored to the needs of the customer but always with an eye on 'the real world' that comes from the experience of doing the job rather than simply reading about it.

Targetting addicts in UK

Project Prevention has announced its' intention to set up shop in UK. The project targets drug users and pays them to be sterilised or use other long-term borth control. It began when it's US founder failed to get compulsory sterilisation written into California law.

Half day seminars for care home managers and senior care workers

It’s no surprise that residential care providers need to understand the new legislation about deprivation of liberty. Unfortunately though, most people are still uncertain and written government guidelines do little to remove the confusion.

The obvious solution is training but few providers have the time or the resources to organise full training days when only a few senior people really need to know.

Philip Laing is 19 years old. Like many 19 year old students he sometimes drinks too much – a lot too much. Like many drunken teenagers he sometimes acts inappropriately when he’s ‘in his cups’. One night last October, following a night of drinking with his fellow sfgudents a very drunk Mr. Laing urinated on a war memorial in Sheffield's city centre.
