Gillian Hargreaves

Gillian “Gill” Hargreaves is the administrative brains behind AMJ Socialcare Training & Consultancy Ltd. Her background lay in middle management and charity fundraising before taking a break from work to care for her family.

Gill’s professional history, which she humourously describes as ‘varied and mostly legal’ has predominantly been in the service industry where she trained and managed staff in a variety of roles. Since then she has become increasingly interested in social care and in particular the need to ensure that workers are equipped both practically and psychologically for the task before them.

Like her business partner, Stuart, Gill started at the bottom and has worked her way up. This means that she is well aware of the potential of workers at all levels and is committed to supporting them to be the best that they can be.

In practice this commitment means that Gill works tirelessly to ensure that the administration underlying AMJ training is efficient and effective.

Philip Laing is 19 years old. Like many 19 year old students he sometimes drinks too much – a lot too much. Like many drunken teenagers he sometimes acts inappropriately when he’s ‘in his cups’. One night last October, following a night of drinking with his fellow sfgudents a very drunk Mr. Laing urinated on a war memorial in Sheffield's city centre.
